DOGGY GROUP IDEAS/GAMES PLEASE~I am planning a "barkday" party for my dog. (Birthday Party)?
Does anyone have any ideas for games or other fun things to do with the dogs? (All dogs coming know each other and play well together, there will probably be about 8-12 dogs here... all sizes and all breeds...) All suggestions appreciated. I am already doing a dog safe cake, a small kiddie swimming pool to stay cool, and a take home doggy bag full of treats and a toy.... Any other FUN ideas MUCH APPRECIATED. Thanks so much! ![]()
How fun! Can we come too?
I used to be the activities 'fun director' at an obedience club, so I have lots of ideas.
* Buy a kids bowling game and set the pins up inside a circle or square made from masking tape. The owner isn't allowed to cross the masking tape. See which dog san get a 'strike' by knocking the pins over the fastest. You can also use 2 liter soda bottles.
* If the dogs are trained to sit & down reliably, make a tic tac toe grid with masking tape, large enough for the biggest dog to sit/lie in. Divide into 2 teams and instead of X's and O's, you have sits and downs!
*Raw egg retrieve-take turns rolling a raw egg on the ground (play this one OUTSIDE, LOL) and see which dog can retrieve it the longest distance without breaking it
*Musical chairs- played just like regular musical chairs, but you have your dog on leash and either have the dog get on the chair or on their owner's lap.
*dog with the best appetite- each dog gets a paper plate with 'weird' foods- small piece of lettuce, cherry tomato, potato chip, etc (NOTHING HARMFUL!!!!) and see which dog cleans their plate first

Have races, tell the dogs to stay, and the come, and the fastest wings a nice treat like a RAW chicken wing
And have it like in groups, small, medium, large, so its fair.
Have tug-a-war games etc.
Play dog soccer! I play it with my Aussie all the time

Why don’t you try doing " Search your masters’ thing"wherein you let them smell the thing you’ll hide using for example small buckets. hide anything his/her master owns and let them try to find it.The first one who finds it wins the game.
