For the cupcake shell just make it red and get red food coloring and color the cupcake mix.

How about any flavor of cake with red icing and candy bones on the top.

Red paw print will be cute and easy. Use red velvet cake, white icing, then when icing dries go back and make the red paw print. You could cut out a stencil of the paw print to make it easier. Food color paste is redder than drops (Hoby Loby, etc.)
