Have you ever given your dog a birthday party? i need ideas?

I want to give my dog a birthday party..
She is a jack russell named Jackie, and she will be turning 7..
any ideas??
by the way she is my babygirl so she is like a human in many ways, she's a member of the family All of my friends and family are the same way.
so i want it to be special

The whole neighborhood threw a party for my dog when he turned one, and it was awesome. First off, get people together! Invite them, and then you'll be able to plan from there. For Zen's I made a Dog Birthday Cake, using a safe recipe I found on the internet, and a Human cake--German Chocolate (Just make sure the two don't cross!). We all gathered at the park, and someone brought Frosty Paws- which is ultimately dog ice cream. All the dogs got to run and play, eat their special cake, and we even had a frosty paws eating contest. (Our neighbor's dog ate it the fastest). Zen also got presents, and toys from everyone. It may sound crazy, but if your dog is your kid, it's going to be as fun, if not more fun then a child's birthday party.

Dog Birthday Party Ideas?

lol I know I sound like a little girl buttttt....

This month my baby Dane turns 1 year old. I want to throw a birthday party for her. I plan on getting a dog cake & a human cake. Putting together doggie goodie bags. and decorating. Back home, we have the perfect park to go to where everyone can run around.
What games or ideas do you have that would keep both furry and hairless guests entertained? Or do you have any other ideas that can add to the event?

wow... I love your idea!

There are a lot of websites out there that have super ideas for doggiebirthday parties...
here are some suggestions:

Invite doggie friends over if any and have little bags for the dogs with treats in them... kind of fun...
You can make a good doggie birthday ake so that all the doggie friends can enjoy a piece too...
What I do instead of a full cake is do doggie cupcakes or muffins munus the paper around the outside of course...

There are some good sites out there with dog cake recipes and treats and have fun...

Oh... make sure to have food for the people gringing the dogs LOL
Sen out invitations too... that'll be cute...

Need ideas for throwing a weiner dog party!?

My son's one-year birthday coincides with the annual weiner dog races this year. Since we enter our dachshund Napoleon every year, we decided to combine the two events and have a weiner dog themed party after the races. I need fun ideas for decorations, food, etc. (Besides the obvious hot dogs!) Anyone?

have all the food and snacks in dog food bowls- get those at the dollar store. you can even take a marker and write each guests name on a bowl for them instead of a plate.
make corn dogs, little weenies in a crock pot, or hot dogs. make a batch of puppy chow-(but dont' serve to children under 3 due to may trigger allergies to penut butter.)
3/4 cup peanut butter
1 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup butter
8 cups Crispix cereal
2 cups powdered sugar
Melt the peanut butter, chocolate chips, and butter together. Pour over the cereal in a large kettle or bowl and stir well. Pour the powdered sugar into a large brown paper bag and add the cereal. Fold the bag to seal and shake well to coat evenly.

make dog bone shaped cookies, and dog bone shaped cheese and sausage. make a cake in the shape of a dog house or any dog type shape. (maybe a hot dog shaped cake!) beef jerky
make a cardboard dog house that guests can put his presents inside.have all kinds of doggie toys on the tables as decorations- get those from the dollar store- plus extra gift for your dog after the party! make paw prints out of paper and place on the sidewalk leading to the party- up the stairs- around the house- where ever you want! use newspaper as tablecloths on tables. decorate with streamers and balloons- find doggie type balloons- maybe red streamers and balloons. you can stick stuffed dogs around the room as well.
use doggie bags from a restaurant for gift baggies for guests.

We are having a dog party and I need game ideas for the dogs.?

Our party theme is a "lu-howl", (luau). There are yorkies so the games need to go with the size of the dog. Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks a bunch!

I Spy - Leader calls out dog body parts and owner touches it. (This is good for the owners to become knowlagable about body parts. Good for the dogs as it allows them to get used to being handled.)

Simon Says - Leader calls out cmmand for the dog to do(sit, down, stay, walk, jog, ect.) beginning w/"Simon Says". THe dog owners/ handlers have the dog to the command. If the dog handler doe it and leader did not say"Simon Says", they are out of the game.

Tic Tac Toe - Create a large Tic-Tac-Toe grid. (Must be large enough for dog to lie down in.) Teams selected w/O's lining up on one side of grid and X's on the opposite grid. Each turn, a team member goes to a square and places their dogin a sit/rest facing their team. First team to get a line of three pups (vertical, horizontal, diagonal) wins. If a dog breaks position, they lose that turn and must move
off the board. Each team can wear a colored bandana or "O" team can use hula-hoops.

any good ideas 4 a good dog party?

my dog is turning 2 and im throwing a party any ideas?

Hi Allison! Dog cakes and icecream are yummy. Also a good idea for fun would be racing. Get a ball and roll it or throw it. Also making a "treat hunt". Put treats around your yard, invite some friends or neighbors with dogs and let the dogs look. To make it special for your dog, have dog soccer.

Bolt Birthday Party Ideas

Bolt was released in November of 2008, and it is expected to be one of the most popular movies of the year. Naturally, that means a lot of kids are going to want to integrate Bolt into their everyday lives, and one such way to do that is with a Bolt themed birthday party.

You may be getting stressed at the prospect of holding a Bolt themed birthday party, but it can be an easy task when you use these birthday party ideas and some imagination.

Design a Super Hero Animal
This is a fun activity for the kids and it helps put their imagination to work for them. All you have to do is cut out a series of animals in cardboard, ranging from horses and chickens to dogs and cats. Then, each kid can choose the animal they want (so make lots) and then they can paint and color the cutout to design the super hero animal they want. They can even name them.

A Super Hero Show
Once the super hero cut outs are designed, you can have the kids perform a quick play using the super hero animal cut outs. This is a great activity because it will now help the kids take their creativity even further by creating a super hero persona and story to go with the super hero animal that they created. It can also be highly entertaining and it is unlikely anyone won't enjoy this great activity during the Bolt birthday party.

Baking Treats
This next activity involves everyone and it can actually help make the world a better place. There are plenty of recipes on the internet for making special dog treats from scratch. Have the kids help you make a big batch, and then you can feed them to the animals in the house. Once you have done that, tell the kids that you are going to take those left-over treats to the local animal shelter so that the other animals can have a happy 'birthday' too. It is a small gesture that may have a big effect for the kids.

Bolt is going to be a hit, there is no doubt about that and you can expect that your kids will ask for a Bolt theme birthday party. With some supplies and a bit of out of the box thinking, you can make a great birthday for everyone.

Dog Accessories For The Party Animal

Canine parties are now a fact of life for many dog and their owners. If you are invited to a party for a pooch which dog accessories will you need? Maybe you are the one planning the event, you will still need accessories.

If will depend on the event of course. If you are going to be a guest at a summer shindig you may want matching beachwear for you and your little furry friend or at least hats and beach towels.

A dog attending any social function should have an appropriate collar and leash. If the event is formal such as a wedding or cocktail party you may prefer something with rhinestones. A tiara might be a nice touch and don't hold back on the gown or tails (and I don't mean the canine variety). There are outfits made from satin, lace and other lovely fabrics. These pieces of clothing may also have matching jackets, cloaks or capes.

Holidays are the perfect time for a soiree. Besides fabulous costumes for Halloween and party clothing for Christmas you will find dog accessories made to compliment and adorn. There are charming hats, boots and sweaters. Your dog will look like a million bucks.

Now that you have an idea of what Bowser will be wearing maybe you should concentrate on gift ideas. There are all kinds of dog accessories that will be perfect for any party or occasion.

Shop online and you will find an amazing array of accessories and gifts for any dog. Personalized presents are always nice and you may have a choice of doggy dishes, beds, pillows, chairs, Christmas ornaments and more. Online shopping allows you to see so many dog accessories and they can be conveniently purchased and delivered right to your door.

Toys are hot dog accessories and the choices are almost endless. Choose from balls, plush toys, snacks launchers and toys that can be chased. You will want to make sure all the toys are safe for dogs and won't cause any problems. There are toys that can be stuffed with snacks and you could also include a nice assortment of treats. Any toy that can be chewed safely makes a good gift, also. Pull toys are always popular and can be enjoyed by the owner as well.

Other dog accessories could include grooming items. There are wonderful combs and brushes, and shampoos and conditioners that are gentle and safe to use.

Maybe the guest of honor loves to walk and gets to take part in this activity on a daily basis. A new collar and leash combo would make a terrific gift. You could include one of those little bones filled with plastic bags for doggy doo pick up while you're at it.

Whether you are the invited or the invitee for the next canine celebration you will be prepared when you explore all the dog accessories available.

Dog Party Ideas

If your child has been longing for a pet of the canine kind, birthday time could be the perfect time to teach responsible pet ownership and have a dog party! The best dog parties are ones with easily manageable sized guest lists. I would say two to three guests would be easily manageable. Be sure to check with parents to be certain the guests have no pet phobias or allergies, and get permission, before you plan your sleep over. Check with local animal shelters in your area, and plan a trip according to their policies.

Serve "puppy chow" PB & J sandwiches cut into bone shapes in doggie bowls, and show movies such as "Old Yeller" or "The Lady and the Tramp" and talk with the children about pet care and responsible pet ownership. The next morning, serve breakfast cereal in the 'doggie bowls' and round the crew up for a trip to the local animal shelter. Consider painting paw prints on chubby cheeks before you head out.

Take the children to the animal shelter, and enlist the aid of one of the volunteers or employees as they show the children the pets in the shelter. Be certain the representative from the animal shelter talks to the children about the pets, reinforcing responsible pet ownership to your child. Let the children look at the pets, taking care to maintain safety as your number one priority at all times. Finally, if your child has bonded with a particular pet, make arrangements with the shelter to come back and pick up the pet later.

Finally, take the party to the local pet supply shop, and allow the birthday boy or girl to purchase pet supplies at the store. Take the guests home, and go and pick up your newest addition to the family. This way, there is no tug of war over who gets to hold the puppy, and decisions are more likely to be based on good personality fits between your child and the new pet and less on peer influence.

Responsible pet ownership is a good lesson for all children. Your dog party is sure to help make pet ownership and the responsibility inherent in that a perfect fit for everyone.

Your Dog’s Birthday Party

Celebrate Your Dog's Birthday With A Dog Party

It was recently reported that over 700,000 pets in the United States have had birthday parties thrown for them by their owners. This 'pet party' trend has also taken off in other nations such as China, Japan and England. So if you are having a birthday party for your dog, you will need dog birthday party supplies which can be found here. Ultimate THE DOG Party Pack Price: $164.99 If you were thinking of throwing a party for your pet (specifically your dog), here is a list of party safety guidelines to ensure that all of the party animals in attendance have a fun and safe time. This list is by no means fully comprehensive, but it gives you a good starting point for your pet party safety. You should always use your best judgment to determine if something is appropriate for your pet, and the ot her pets in attendance at the party. Without further adieu, here are the dog party safety tips: - All dogs attending the party should have at least one person who the dog feels comfortable around present at the party. If a guardian for the dog is not able to attend your party, the dog should not attend either. Unless you feel comfortable enough with watching the dog yourself, you do not one to be held liable if something happens to the dog. dog party supplies - In case any of the dogs' guardians do not bring waste bags for their dogs, make sure to have plenty on hand. This is especially true if the party is at a dog park or other public facility. Be sure to leave the location in the same condition that it was in prior to the party. - To avoid any potential scuffles between the party animals, only invite dogs that your dog already knows and feels comfortable with. If your best friend's dog is sweet, but just doesn't get along with your dog for some reason, it may be best to leave them off of the guest list. If you want to invite a dog who your dog has never met, set up a meeting between your dog and the other dog so that they can become acquainted before the party. Definitely leave canine bullies off of the guest list. - If you plan to have an outdoor party at a dog park or in your backyard, make sure that you have a contingency plan in the event of bad weather. - In regards to the length of the party, you can plan the party for as long as you see fit, just keep in mind that dogs can become restless very easy. If you notice that many of the guests are getting cranky, don't be afraid to end the party early. - Wherever you choose to have the party, make sure that it is safely enclosed and that there are no 'cracks' that any of the party guests may be able to slip through. This is especially true for the smaller guests at the party. If your Rottweiler has started digging a whole under your fence in the backyard, make sure that the hole isn't big enough for your friend's Shih Tzu to crawl through. If you think that the whole may become problematic, fill the whole before you host your party. dog birthday party supplies - At treat time, make sure that every puppy has his or her own treat. Also, allow each dog's guardian to give the treat to their respective dog. - If you invite dogs that have not yet been spayed or neutered, make sure that you alert the parents of the other dogs at the party. Also, if you think that it is necessary, make sure that the parents of these dogs keep an especially close eye on their pet. - Make sure to only provide treats that are deemed safe for dogs. If you are unsure about the dog toxicity of any of the treats that you want to give out at your party, consult your veterinarian. Also, it is a good idea to talk with the owners of the dog party guests beforehand to check if their dog is allergic to a particular food or ingredient. By: D.
