One of the newest crazes in presents this year is dog gift baskets. It isn't odd to see the little doggie stockings with treats in them around Christmas time, but lately dog lovers have found that giving these great gifts for pets is a fantastic way to let their little baby know they love them. Dog gift baskets usually consist of dog treats, a sweater, gourmet food, squeeze toys and a chew rope.
I decided to make my own for my sister-in-law's dog, Tickles. Tickles is a female Pomeranian. My sister-in-law loves her dog so much that she has birthday parties for her. Yes, we wore party hats and sang happy birthday to her and had a cake for her. It was actually charming. I decided to send Tickles a home made basket for Christmas one year.
Dog gift baskets are very versatile so I decided to get creative with the project. I bought a wicker basket and put a pillow in it that I made. I found fabric that said 'I love my mommy' on it. I then took a baby doll nightgown and cut the front open to the top panel. I sewed the edges so her feet were free. I also made an opening for her fluffy tail to curl up out of.
Then I took doggie treats with the soft center and poked a hole up through it. Red and green ribbons added a little color. I made 6 of these and put them in a sleepy time tea box. I then took booties that I found for a baby doll and a nightcap that I attached a ribbon to for her head.
The bedtime theme was just one of two dog gift baskets that I created for Tickles. The second was a great toy collection that any pup would adore. I bought several squeeze toys like a bear and rubber ducks. I added some chew sticks that I wrapped in ribbon and added tassels to the tops.
I found dog treats that resembled cookies and put them in a box and decorated it to look like tea cookies. I then took thin pieces of wicker and built a frame around one end of the dog gift baskets to form a cover.I used the same fabric from the pillow that I made and attached it to the frame.
Lace was then sewed into the fabric to give the presentation an extra special touch. I then took a thin piece of fabric and attached Velcro to it. I then put Velcro on the frame and draped the fabric over the entire basket. My sister in law and little Tickles loved the dog gift baskets that I made her.

Thank your dog for his loyalty and friendship by throwing a picnic party for him and his friends. Yes, you read that right. Dogs too can have picnic in the park.
Dog owners in Southern California managed to organize dog picnic parties for their loving pets. This involved the usual party details for humans such as table settings, floral centerpieces, and good food. But in organizing a real picnic party for your dog, make sure that you keep the party true to the real nature of the celebrants.
Parties for pets could mean disaster if not handled well. Because of their pet nature, they would not of course enjoy fancy table settings and decors. What your dog would enjoy is a free time with his dog pals.
In organizing a picnic party for your pet dog, it is imperative that the guest list is limited to a few dogs. It is also important to consider the dogs know each other or the breeds go well together. Play, food, and competition may be troublesome for different breed dogs. If possible, make sure that the invited dogs are obedient and well-trained by the owners to ensure that they can listen to the commands of their masters.
Plan an activity for the dogs too. Those who are well-trained can run obstacle courses. Ball chasing for smaller and friendlier dogs could also be done. If you plan on placing toys around their activity area, make sure that there is enough for every dog. These pets are like children who will fight over a limited number of toys.
And as owners, or parents, it is important that play is supervised for these children, or dogs. At all cost, do avoid triggers. These could be food or anything that would create an aggressive reaction to dogs. Foods should not be around the activity area. Water drinking should be supervised as well even if water dishes are placed in every corner. This ensures the dogs that they need not fight over something to drink.
Of course, the party should be outdoors and be kept short. Your focus should be on the dog and not with the floral centerpieces, linen napkins, and picnic baskets essential for human picnic parties. Dog foods are naturally necessary but they should be introduced slowly and carefully.
The doggie picnic party objective is simple - that you enjoy hanging out with your dog and your dog enjoy a good time with his doggie friends.

When I was a little girl, every Wednesday afternoon, I watched the animated serie Scooby-Doo on television.
I loved watching these four teenagers and a dog driving around the world in their Mystery Machine solving mysterious and frightening cases in evil cities.
These four teenagers are named Fred "Freddie" Jones, the smart and athletic boy; Daphne Blake, the pretty fashioned girl; Velma Dinkley, intellectual and a bit overweight; and Norville "Shaggy" Rogers the fearful beatnik.
At the end of each episode, Velma reveals the explanation of these strange cases; which, finally, are simple scams involving one or several local citizens.
One of the most sympathetic characters of this cartoon is a brown Great Dane. A cheerful, flippant, fearful, greedy talking dog named Scooby-Doo.
Scooby-Doo and Samy are the humorous side of this sinister atmosphere.
Scooby-Doo's characters have been redesigned. The characters have been brought alive; featured by Freddie Prinz Jr. (Shaggy), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Daphne), Linda Cardellini (Velma, who seems having lost weight after visiting my weight loss site), Matthew Lillard (Samy), and the computer technology for Scooby-Doo graphics.
Children and adults still love this cartoon.
Thirty years ago, ghost night did not mean anything in my country but since ten years TV companies organize ghost noight themed shows and their first guest is... Scooby Doo.
A birthday party is the perfect occasion to wear the Scooby Doo animated serie's costumes.
Here are the easiest homemade Scooby Doo costumes:
Fred "Freddie" Jones, the smart guy:
A blue collared shirt
A white sweater
Blue trousers
An orange scarf
A blonde wig
Daphne Blake, the fashioned girl:
A violet short dress
An apple green scarf
Pink tights
Clear purple shoes (or clear purple boots to feature the new Daphne)
An orange wig
Add a purple ribbon in your hair
Violet eye shadow, orange lipstick

Velma Dinkley, the intellectual girl:
An orange turtleneck sweater
A short red pleated skirt
Orange Socks
Red shoes
Big glasses
A brown wig

Norville "Shaggy" Rogers, the beatnik:
A too large and too long light green T-shirt
Brown flare trousers
Brown shoes
A brown goatee
A brown wig

Scooby-Doo, the talking dog:
If you have some skills for sewing, you can create your Scooby Doo costume.
Here is the necessary material: a dog pattern, brown fabric, black fabric for the black patches.
If you do not have sewing skills, choose a brown turtleneck sweater, brown trousers and a Scooby Doo mask.
Do not forget a turquoise necklace and the golden badge.
Have fun: organize a Scooby Doo themed ghost night party and invite lots of ghosts and monsters in order to recreate the Mystery Machine's team atmosphere.

What’s the best way to celebrate your dog's birthday? Set up a great party, of course. However, if it’s going to be for your dog, the mechanics will be a little bit different. If you have no idea where to begin or how exactly to do it, here are some tips for you:
1. Choose your Guest List. If you’re thinking of inviting other dogs, then you’ll need to invite their owners too. Knowing how many are going to attend will give you an idea how much money you have to set aside for the party. Also, you will need to think carefully about the behavior of the dogs you plan to invite, as you don’t want to mix dogs with poor social skills. You don’t want to turn the event into a complete disaster.
2. Choose your Venue. The best place to hold a dog’s party is either your backyard, an open field or somewhere else outdoors. Keep the dogs from heading indoors so you don’t have to prepare your home or clean it afterwards. Second, you will have plenty of space where your dog and his guests, as well as pet owners, can roam around and play games. Third having a birthday party in a park, for example, will cost you less—sometimes it can even be free.
3. Prepare and send out invitations. When you’ve decided on the venue, time, and guest list, you’re now ready to send out invitations. There are actually dog party organizers who can help you with the designing and sending of invites, as well as with the organizing of the occasion. But if you think you have the skills to do so, you can just use any free templates from the internet and add your own personal touch.
4. Determine the kinds of activities you’re going to do on his birthday. All food and no play can still make a birthday party a little boring. That’s why you need to come up with a list of activities that will liven up the occasion. Now, since it’s not just going to be dogs that will be around, it would be great if you can plan out games that would be fun for both the pet owners and the small dogs. Relay games are great examples, since dogs love to run and compete with the others.
5. Doggy Bags and Prizes. What’s a game without a prize? To keep everyone motivated and always on their feet, tease them with great goodies and prizes. Dog toys are a favourite. Dog owners, on the other hand, may receive leashes or harnesses with a small message from the celebrant printed on them.
Lastly, don’t forget the cake. There are specialty dog bakeries who can create delicious-tasting layered cakes for your pets. Cap the entire occasion with a blowing of an edible beef flavoured candle.
Make sure that your dog looks the part at her birthday party. Puppia has a wide range of dog apparel highly appropriate for that special day. You can then match it with a dog harness so you can easily tie her up while tending to your other guests.
